We had a jam-packed night to celebrate our first home football game of the year. We hosted a fish fry and tailgate outside of the stadium and Chillicothe Intermediate School, with a variety of yard games, Kona Ice, music, and face painting. The tailgate was the perfect spot to watch our Marching Cavaliers march into the field. All Cavaliers were encouraged to “Blue Out” the stadium.
Before the game, we honored Dennis Murphy, the equipment manager for the Chillicothe Football Program, and announced the naming of the field house after him. Dennis Murphy has been working with Chillicothe Athletics for over 20 years. Mr. Murphy has been a valued member of the Cavalier Club and the go-to person for Chillicothe Athletics for many years. If you have had the privilege of coaching any sports at Chillicothe High School then you probably know who he is. Murph is the backbone of the Chillicothe Football program. He is always willing to help others and goes above and beyond what is expected of him.
We also debuted our new turf, and celebrated it with a ribbon-cutting ceremony before kickoff. We’d like to thank the Touchdown Club again, as this wouldn’t be possible without them.
During halftime, we had a field goal kicking contest, and of course watched our Marching Cavaliers!
We are excited for the rest of the football season, and to support our Cavaliers!
